What I've just seen is that sometimes when you click "Download Center" tab on home page, you get a 404error re-direct to web-hosting company...is that the same issue?

Yup, but I've encountered another crash, changing the files to monitor will make it crash, also settings to auto startup doesn't seem to work

Hi,

You mean when you try to change "file types to analyse" unders settings...then crash appear?

Can you please describe crash a little bit or take picture of it? Thanks.

Yes, auto startup will be fixed too.

EDIT: @skudo12: OK, just made test....changed "file types to analyse" under settings...applied and crash appeared.
Need to fix this bug too.

Regards,
Kardo

It seems that being fast at detecting have it's downside.. First when a file is downloaded, the moment it start, KAD detects it and starts the cloud lookup (the file is still incomplete meaning different hash). That means that KAD will give a safe rating.. However if you select an action when the downloading is not yet finished KAD will detect it once more after the download.. It will then give a proper rating to the file.
As for the settings crashing, it happened when I unchecked rar and zip files.. And when KAD restarts itself, it crashed..

Hi,

Yes...it is some kind of bug, but it still show proper rating at the end of file download. But yeah, i´ll try to fix this little bug too (this will also reduce popups.).

Okay. I will try to figure out what causes settings crash.

Thank you for the report.

Kardo

Hello, I'm getting an idle cpu usage of around 6 - 8% and a I/O Total Rate of 180kB/s.. Is it normal? Can it be considered as a performance hit?

Hi,

I have the same cpu usage on Windows 7 32-bit.

I will try to improve performance of KAD as much as possible.

It should be still light on your system....at least RAM usage.
I know that RAM usage is not only indicator of application performance but it is important for many users.

At the moment i am focused on bugs and i will try to add some new features to future releases of KAD.

For next release i will try to develope following features: Stealth mode and intelligence analyser.

Kardo

@ Tarnak.

I finished your files review for now.

As i see, your error still appear on windows xp after boot/reboot.

I think that there is some conflict between KAD and your other security product(s). One way is that i will install Windows XP on virtual machine and start to test KAD with other security programs you are using.

Can you please send me these details via PM:

Windows XP (32 or 64 bit)

List of other security products you are using on your computer.

This information should help to figure out the problem.

Kardo

Hi,

I´d like to tell that latest Kristal Advance Detector Beta is working on Windows 8 Consumer Preview (I Tested it on Windows 8 Consumer Preview - 32-Bit).

NOTE: To get it work for first time successfully, you need to download installer version...then right-click on installer file and choose "Extract Here" or "Extract files..." and choose folder where you´d like to extract KAD files.

When KAD files extracted then you have to double-click only first time on KADPrepare.exe. When this is done then KAD will start properly on Windows 8.

Here some pictures of KAD on Windows 8 CP:
