WTG Comodo, still wouldn't trust/touch it with a barge pole though!

I agree, without Panda these tests say very little as far as the free AV market.

Updated Jan 17 2012, checkout 1st post.

Frds, I tried Panda Cloud 1.5.1, the reason I didn't included it coz for many detected threats it said not neutralize & gave online recommendation which I find uncomfortable. For 1-2 threats its fine but 10-12 threats its not good.
So didn't included Panda Cloud. No other AV said cannot quarantine/delete for even 1 detected threat.

Thanxx
Naren

Could you test Avast in the next test with normal and high heuristics sensitivity? I'm curious if it makes a difference, I've had it on high for quite a while, and no FP's so it doesn't seem very aggressive.

We've fixed some of these disinfection issues already in the beta 1.9.1 and are fixing some more of them before 2.0 release. But if you can send me the md5's of the tested binaries it would help us make sure all the disinfection bugs are fixed.

Although the number of samples is somewhat small, I'm glad Unthreat is in my top-5 free AVs I recommend.

To the Testers- Upon reviewing the results that you have posted, I am very curious as to the manner of testing used. The reason for this is that my group has doing extensive evaluations of at least one of the products that are included in your tests [as to evade any accusation of bias I won't name which one(s)], and our results (carried out over 10 months with well over 10,000 samples) is totally at odds with those you present.

If any could provide the Materials and Methods utilized in your test it would be appreciated.

I like to test defaults as it is used by majority. Currently I am testing with defaults. Later I may test all the products with high settings.

Heyy,

Few info in my 1st post.

This is just a simple RealTime Protection/Detection Test. I download 0-Day malware mainly from MDL, MBL, Malc0de & CleanMX & sometimes I look for other sites for samples. I collect 0-Day malware in a folder & check for the duplicate malware i.e same malware file. First RightClick Scan & remaining are executed to check if they are detected. Hope this is clear.

Regards
Naren

Hmm... Good work 'Naren' keep it up
And don't forget send the md5's to 'Pbust' to make sure all the disinfection bugs are fixed when Panda Cloud 2.0 is released
