I downloaded ad-aware 6-0, updated it and ran it. It found 104 bugs. I said it cleaned all but 5. My McAfee program found some viruses but would not delete them as ad-aware was running thru the scan. I rebooted as ask and ran ad-aware a second time. Then I downloade hijackthis as you had in step 2 and ran it. I deleted some files that it found that I knew were not necessary and ran it again. The log file attached is the second log file after I deleted some of the files I knew needed to be deleted. Ater that McAfee found a virus this time called "StartPage-CH", in the file, " C:\ProgramFiles\q330994.exe\Q33094.exe", and again it would not delete it. I went into windows explorer and deleted the file that way. Then ran McAfee again. It found it again and this time deleted the virus file. Then I tried internet explorer and still found the search page taking over. Then I went into the registry and using the find feature looked for "nkvd" found every one and deleted them individually. At that point the search page no longer took over when I reset the home page in internet explorer. Have I finally eliminate the bug? Thank you
