Default Sfloppy.sys - another FP by Avast

it showed after updating to 111206.1 and said 'Hidden Rootkit' then I choose ignore.

have not read full thread but i heard it should be fixed, so update and all is ok

I got a few calls about this today from my customers. I booted up my wife's computer and saw it there as well. Glad I got to it before she did!

Apparently it only affected XP 32 bit and similar, not Vista/7 as far as I know.

The FP was a rootkit detection on sfloppy.sys, but the file was not automatically removed. Avast suggested a boot time scan instead. The boot scan completed with no detections.

No damage done, the file remained intact.

The next definition update fixed the FP detection, no reboot necessary.

Could have been a whole lot worse.
