Default Win Vista 32---WMI Provider error

Gang,

I have been fighting this problem for months. I get a WMI Provider stopped working message and then my video setup goes to one monitor.

I use a MacBook Pro 15 (2.56GHz, 250GSSD, 4G Memory) with bootcamp and so I use the 15" main monitor as my second monitor and an HP wide monitor to do circuit board layout and other engineer crap. This is an nVidia GeForce 9600M GT video interface with DVI output on the external connection.

When I get this WMI error the HP monitor (external connection) goes dead. This means all my icons get smushed and then everything goes to the 15" LCD.

I have to reboot then go into Control Panel nVidia and reset everything.

I got this twice this morning and figured I would get down to it. There is a bunch of people on the net with McAfree and other antiviris programs that are saying it has something to do with Windows security stuff.

Any ideas as to how to fix this?

Thanks
Gordon
