It's posted in their forum. It's normal to give the warning but if your system is stable after the Avira installation with SpywareBlaster, you can keep it. Depending on view points, it's another layer of security but Avira thinks it disturbs the protection that is given by AVIRA itself. So, it's up to you to judge.

"It's normal to give the warning..."
While it may be normal for an anti-virus installer to warn about the presence of another anti-virus program... or perhaps, even a real-time "anti-spyware" program... it is NOT normal for it to question other security tools that one has installed on their system. In the case of Avira, reports are surfacing that (in addition to SpywareBlaster), it's allegedly questioning WinPatrol, Secunia's PSI, SpyBot, AdAware, SAS, MBAM, and Comodo's firewall (among others). In short, it appears that Avira is trying to scare people into removing security programs beyond just competing/conflicting anti-virus programs.

SpywareBlaster does NOT run in real-time... so there should be no conflict with ANY anti-virus program... indeed, it is meant to complement them. Because SpywareBlaster only does the following:
1) restricts acceptance of cookies in IE and FF
2) adds known bad sites to the restricted zone in IE
3) disables known bad ActiveX controls from running in IE
NONE OF THESE aspects should confict with any legitimate anti-virus program.

While Avira can't possibly test ALL possible programs/configurations for potential conflicts, they should still be able to test the more popular products before deciding to include them, explicitly by name, in their warning message.

That's why I always ignore it. Agreed that it's a scare tactic.
