What is the purpose of the gvfs metadata files i.e. what causes files to land up there ?
Does gvfs stand for 'gnome virtual file system' ? Most posts I have read mention that deleting the files in /home/user/.local/share/gvfs-metadata (or the entire folder) is perfectly safe. Is this correct ? (I have only 1.4MB in there, some named uuid xxx ) Edit: Just removed all files in there - all OK no ill effects at all. Seems like whenever something is mounted causes a file(s) to be placed there.
