Default Secure deletion of files in Ubuntu - suggestions please!

I have been using the Secure Delete suite (command: srm).

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 11.04 and the srm command appears to take far longer to delete files.

What program do people use to securely delete files in Ubuntu?

There are a few suggestions here: http://www.ubuntugeek.com/tools-to-d....html#more-786 but I would appreciate any personal recommendations.

Many thanks.
