Trustport is running a giveaway of TrustPort Total Security 2012. All one needs to do is play a simple game. Follow the instructions. Even winning one level is enough to get a license. Those who win all levels may get a chance to win Xbox.

Does it have custom install? Or at least permanent disable?

You can disable the components within the GUI after installation. It does not turn off windows firewall after install. We have to do it manually and restart again.

IME, an AV well worth having, particularly when free.

Don't be put off by the high initial CPU activity; once the initial fingerprinting has taken place, TP is as light as a feather in real-time. Further, a number of testing sites have shown a very good detection rate.

I gave it a whirl. It does not scan registry during a full scan. Have to launch registry scan.

It should settle down after an initial full scan is complete if I read Blackcats post correctly.

But i am wondering, why does they give the total protection ? thats kinda odd, If there's a game like that, supposedly the price is only an antivirus

I grabbed this and stuck it on a snapshot purely to create a WinPE boot disc,BartPE plugin and on-demand portable scanner,so it's worthwhile even if you don't want the whole shebang.

It lighter a bit. btw, I think its memory usage is acceptable cuz of its dual engine especially Bitdefender.

Does anyone know if the license key can activate the AV only?
