Enable new client-side phishing detection for non-UMA users (previously UMA-only). When local heuristics trigger, sends only limited information that does not identify the page, such as a prefix of the hash of the URL, and other non-identifiable features such as whether you've visited the page before.

Anyone have info on this? Dev only.

Very nice, I'll try it when it hits portableapps. Chrome and IE keep surprising me with these security features. AppReputation, and now phishing heuristics, not something you'd think would be in browsers 5 years ago.

We'll see how it actually works in the real world... I'm not sure.

5 years ago we didn't really need it all that much (well, not as badly as we do now). I have to admit though I'm not exactly sure how this works.

I assume they have some very very basic signature for sites that phish and based on that they're blocking sites with that signature.

    Hopefully it's not a ton of FP's.

I've seen it block a lot while looking for malware. Not everything of course, but a lot. We will see how the heuristics does.

I'd love for someone to do a side by side comparison of Chrome 15 and Chrome 13/14 to see how this does in the real world.
