Vipre is great. I run it on a couple of servers and have never had an issue with them. I doubt a lot of folks on here spend much time on Facebook though. You won't find me there.

Be aware, though, that this key is for Vipre Antivirus Home, not Vipre Antivirus Home *Premium*, so the free version you receive will not include a firewall. Found this out the hard way, by not reading closely enough. But hey, it's still a good product and it's free, as long as you're aware of what you're getting.

Well, too bad it requires Facebook/similar.
I could give it a try and see if any relative would like the way it works. Well.. so long... ![]() Facebook is not my kind of thing. ![]() |

Since these type of Facebook giveaways are becoming quite common nowadays,I just created an account using a dormant e-mail address to make use of them,it's not like you actually need to use it for any other purpose.

I remember VIPRE having some conflicts with certain other security programs. Does anyone remember which ones so we can avoid the blue screen of delay?

I just received my license key.
However, it is no good for me to use since it is time limited, i.e. good until > "Your registration key is good for one PC and is valid until August 31, 2012". My existing Vipre license is current until 2013. P.S. I had hoped to extend my existing license, but it seems it is not possible. ![]() |

This may be a dumb question- but did Sunbelt/GFI incorporate the ability to use the ClearCloud DNS with the VIPRE products? Or is ClearCloud completely finished?

And even though GFI Software Beta Coordinator Lana Decker states, in the CC discontinuation notice that, "While we have many loyal ClearCloud DNS users, we have found that most customers prefer the more robust web filtering solution available as a feature in our VIPRE Premium product", NickHSunbelt has commented here on Wilders that, "there are actually some benefits to ClearCloud over Web Filtering. VIPRE's Web filtering only monitors traffic over port 80 (although we plan to make this configurable in future releases). ClearCloud would block bad sites no matter what port is used. Additionally, ClearCloud is updated instantly as new bad sites are added to our block list, while Web Filtering in VIPRE needs to be updated through definitions so updates to it's block list usually occur only every hour or two". So it sounds like VIPRE discontinued a beneficial service. FWIW ![]()
