Florida reportedly sells drivers' info for $63M

Florida drivers are helping the Sunshine State rake in millions and might not even know about it, a Miami television station reports.

The state made $63 million in 2010 selling drivers' names, addresses, dates of birth and what cars they own to employers, insurance companies and such personal data collection firms as LexisNexis, WPLG-TV reports.

I remember there was a class action filed a year or so ago on what appears to be the same or related issue:

I guess it was profitable enough for the state the first time around to give it another go.

A few years ago i would have said "why don't people, & the politicians who are "supposed" to represent them, fight/sue etc" As how on earth can this be legal & if it is how did it become so ?

Unfortunately, as much as i like America the country itself, due to massive corruption at ALL levels, it's virtually impossible now, & a waste of time & $, because it would get nowhere Sad to say, but the USA is phooked. It will return at some point, but not before a BIG battle has been fought !
