Problems with ATI 9 after motherboard upgrade

A couple of weeks ago my telephone line was hit by lightening and along with my neighbours my computer was corrupted.

Once installed I tried restoring with Acronis TI 9 but it failed to see the other drives where the backup was kept. The board is a ASUS M5A97 Evo with quad core AMD. This has 6 on board Sata sockets the top 2 of which can be isolated to IDE only but I set all to IDE. Using the ATI boot disk it could only see the drives on 5 and 6, one off which had to be the CD drive.

I tried the latest version of ATI and it was a disaster writing off the partition table.

Just wondering if I missed off some setting in the BIOS I have missed that might overcome the problem.

I like the way that ATI 9 works and would like to get it working correctly.

Is this a different motherboard? Sounds like TI doesn't have the correct drivers. Can you see the new HD if you connect it to SATA 5 or 6? Boot TI from a USB flash drive or CD and restore your image. You may need to put your image on a USB external HD if SATA 5 and 6 are taken. Later, sort out the SATA ports.

Yes this is a different m/b.

I did not explain properly that it is ok in Windows. It is when it reboots to the Linux to restore the partition that it is unable to see the other disk. I did make another boot disk but that also fails similarly.

I will try putting it on an external USB drive and see what happens.
