I just spend a little over 12 hours using Vipre Home. In my testing I discovered it seems the ability to scan within archives is broken. I also found posts on their forum from sept last year that reflect this. As you can imagine I uninstalled it and went back to NOD32. How the hell can an AV receive such rave reviews when it can't even scan archives properly. I'm also shocked that stupid reviewers didn't spot this. In a support session with GFI the CSR also confirmed it doesn't work. This was on right click context on demand as well as a custom scan within the GUI it's self.
Shocking it doesn't scan archives properly!!! Last edited by SolidState : July 5th, 2011 at 01:22 PM. |

VIPRE can scan archives without any problem. Make sure you have the "Scan inside of archives" option enabled under the custom scan settings and you should see this work properly. If you have any further questions about this or need assistance, please let me know and I'd be happy to help.

Nick it's enabled. It's simply broken in the build I installed (latest). Stop arguing and debating me (other thread) and check to see if I'm correct. And when your ears turn RED all I can say is... I TOLD YOU SO!!!!
OS installed was Win 7 X64 Ultimate if that matters. Last edited by SolidState : July 6th, 2011 at 01:11 PM. |

I have tested this and don't see a problem. I've asked you for additional information in the other thread as well. Instead of saying the same thing in two threads, let's continue the discussion in the other thread which has more detail already posted.
