Sunbelt Personal Firewall 4.7 Beta - the last free product Sunbelt!!?? I test a month. It is a very good firewall program. I ask you: is enough for a home user? (Along: Router Rirewall - Settings: WPA2-PSK; Avast (Free); Malwarebytes Free; Sandboxie (Paid); Shadow Defender (Paid)).

sunbelkt is history my friend. they have killed and massacred the firewall antispyware and DNS and burried them a month ago. Most of us were at the funeral and it was a sad one:thumbd: :thumbd: :thumbd:

Killed and massacred and buried? Yikes!
Good thing no one's being overly dramatic around here. ;)

The firewall, antispyware and DNS block list live on in VIPRE Antivirus Premium
and the antispyware and DNS block list live on in VIPRE Antivirus Standard.

Who besides you knew you were joking?
    Maybe not everyone.
Maybe the OP believed you when you said that those programs are dead and buried, when in fact they are not.
Even now, you're still saying, "they are all shut down".
    But they aren't.
I have the firewall, the antispyware and the DNS block list.
    A consolidation took place
    not a funeral. :)

By the way, Happy Birthday. :)

Since you have a router, inbound doesn't matter. It's probably fine for outbound unless you happen to enjoy infesting your machine with malware, then it may not hold up as well as some other newer firewalls. Just keep in mind that it won't ever change or develop any further.... the beta is the end of the line.

It is often the case -- someone posts a remark that is incredibly stupid, gets called on it, then says, "I was only joking." :cautious:

OK. Thanks for answers. Sorry for this "stupid question" ... but only so get to know ... asking questions ... and the answers come to knowledge.
Again: Thanks for your patience and advice.

You shouldn't let things get to you so much, everyone has their opinions ,and why should you care if they don't share yours?.I agree with part of what you said .The standalone firewall IS dead and not being developed.Whether anyone wants to purchase vipre to get the integrated firewall is another matter.

Other than figuratively, tell me how a DNS service will live on in an AV (suite)?

Looks like the Kerio successor becomes abandonware as well. It's still usable I guess, until IPv6 takes over.

Yet to see any innovation by GFI and whoever's left on Sunbelt.

I didn't say a DNS service will live on, I said a DNS block list will.
I know that you understand these things, better than me, I'm sure.
VIPRE Premium offers blocking, or Web Filtering, as I believe they refer to it.
ClearCloud and VIPRE 4 use the same block list.
If you're point is that VIPRE Standard does not offer the block list, then so be it. :)

Once again I say, good thing no one's being overly dramatic around here. ;)
FWIW, I wasn't trying to make you look like an idiot, gery.
Truth is, people can try to do that all they want, but they are only successful if you cooperate with them... in other words, it only works if in fact you ARE an idiot.
And why focus on the negative, man?
    I wished you a Happy Birthday, didn't I? :)
You think the firewall and antispyware and DNS are dead and I think they are not dead.
No reason to delete an account over that, is there? :)

    Well who is?
I can't think of any situations where people are happy about them.
People are either apathetic or unhappy.
