Default svchost.exe among the "web browsers" list?

After some months that I didn't look in my EAV4.2.71.2 settings I had a look and discovered that svchost.exe was among the "HTTP, HTTPS -> Web Browsers" list and it was checked.

Since I didn't add it or check it, it should have gone there automatically

I unchecked it but now I am wondering if it is right to let it stay in that list(and why it should be treated as a web browser)

Because SVCHOST.EXE is the host process for a large number of services, if one service generates web traffic and it gets flagged as a web browser, then all services using SVCHOST.EXE will have their network communication subject to filtering. It is best to leave this excluded from the list of web browsers to ensure full functionality of all system services.

Thanks for your reply, so it is right to uncheck it

I'm glad you mentioned this. I just took a look at my list of web browsers, and, sure enough, svchost.exe was checked as a web browser. I unchecked it. Maybe this will tend to speed up some things.

To my knowledge

Thats a windows service.
