hi fellow backup maniacs, i tried active@ boot disk after a very long time and i must say that i am amazed at how good the boot disk is, might make it my primary full disk image weapon.
its not as fast as acronis (nothing is) but the boot disk makes up for it in many ways. i would like to know if someone's had any experience of using Active@ products and what their thoughts are, thanks in advance http://www.ntfs.com/boot-disk-win.htm

Hi treehouse,
I did try it a few times on my WinXP laptop and I noticed that upon restarting my system would run chkdsk (finding and correcting errors)!!! For whatever reason, this happened on every subsequent restart following a bootup with Active@ Boot Disk. Aaron

After I started having failures with Acronis I starting using active@ boot disk and have been using it exclusively now for over a year and not had a single problem with it.

Did you run Active@ BootDisk with Rollback Rx installed?
Best regards, KOR! |

I have been using 2 of their products, namely FileRecovery Pro and DiskImage 5 which are both excellent and rock solid. There has been regular updates for both of them. I really like their products.

Lsoft website says that a@di 5.0.2 supports incremental images of raw disks. I never use this feature though.

the reason why i prefer this to other boot disks is the abundance of other tools such as the password reset tool and the like, yes i know there is Hirens boot disk and UBCD4win etc but i experienced alot of bugs with all of them apart from Active@ Boot Disk
(been testing it constantly past few days) i am a technician by trade so all those other quality tools come in use on a regular basis.

I am using Active@ Boot Disk for past two years without single problem/failure. I have created syspreped images of XP and 7 and I use them to deploy images on different computers. Active@ Boot Disk is the best backup/restore solution for me. Moreover, it contains numerous other utilities (partitioning, data recovery, password recovery, disk editor, chkdsk, cmd, etc.) useful for different tasks.
