I purchased it in May 2010, from BitsDuJour offer...and promptly forgot about it, until I started getting an email reminder to renew the program as it was due to expire shortly.
So what the heck...I thought I would install, just to check it out...wrong decision. It nearly botched my system. Had to do a Houdini, i.e. System Restore. P.S. I couldn't get notepad to open ![]() |

Well, this thing requires .NET Framework which is just idiocy. A security product is supposed to be as light on system resources is possible, which is basically the opposite of what a .NET program is. I simply cannot take any security vendor even remotely seriously if the application is .NET or Java based.

what i never understood about this product is.. they used to market this thing saying deny the unknown but whenever it encounter unknown it throws a popup asking allow or deny..then its not default deny is it. it is dependent to the users feedback that is.. just a thought

This product is nothing more than over-priced host intrusion prevention product with only the options to allow or deny a process with hardly any information on the process that is trying to run.
It is completely horrible for most users who don't know what to do. I tested against some common malware found in the wild and it did very poorly with only the same options to allow or deny, it only detected a few of the common samples. What it will do is detect about any safe process that tries to run. Complete junk, compared to products like Comodo and Online Armor, BluePoint is far behind because at least they have whitelists for trusted programs. Thanks. ![]() |

If they do have a whitelist it must be very small to block Windows processes like "Notepad" and "System Restore" both signed by Microsoft. Thanks. ![]() |
