Some interface imperfections:
* on the 'Tools' tab, when your hover over each of the items it gives half width graphical effect, only the 'Watch activity' item displays a narrower graphical effect * when entering the advanced setup tree it would be nicer if the 'Setup...' for the ThreatSense engine parameter setup would be horizontally aligned in the same position on the pages: 'Real-time file system protection', 'Email client protection' and 'Web access protection'. Also, why is there a ThreatSense engine parameter setup button on the 'Parental control' page? |

My impressions:
+ +It runs very smooth, I don't recognize any system impact +The UI is more crowded but I like it, I would like to have the "Tools" options not like an iPhone Homescreen one beside the other but in a list +The cloud based information is a really cool feature - - I miss detailed information in HIPS popups and also an option for learning or installation mode direct in the popups - HIPS should be able to use cloud information in some kind of way. It is ridiculous that when I want to shut down my PC I get 5 popups. Essential Windows functions should be in the rules set, except I delete them. @ppl who always just start crying: this is v1 beta, so give good feedback and write down your wishes without insulting the developers or ppl who like the UI. This is not very helpful. You have the chance to help to make it better, ,this is what a beta is meant for so stop whining in one line answers. The HIPS isn't so bad, The options you have are really cool. |

@Marcos or mod: In reference to sending in a suspicious file per instructions you have posted here...would it not be more convenient just to use the form under Tools/Submit file for analysis?

Why Eset changed the colors of the popups?
I don't like it!!! The colors of popups on version 4.2 is very soft and fashion. On the New version is too agresive blue and red. Make it like before please ![]() |

Hello, I have a problem. I bought the ESS (suite) license November 2010 and I shortly after decided I preferred a third party firewall solution.
Therefore, I uninstalled ESS and installed the stand alone Eset AV using my ESS license, which I believe I'm entitled to do. I've been very happy with Nod for a long time and so recently jumped at the chance to try version 5 like many others, and after the 'upgrade' I find that I can no longer update and that my license is not accepted, why is that ?Surely you're not telling me I have to buy a second license when one wasn't required previously? Thank you in advance.

You don't have to buy another license. Make sure you are correctly entering your username/password information. Try clearing the update cache and update again. See: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showp...40&postcount=3
Post back if you still have problems. |

Did you do a clean install, or did you install on-top over the existing installation? If you did install on-top. Then I would recommended to make a complete uninstall, and then install the BETA.

Thank you for your prompt reply, I was cutting and pasting so there should have been no issues, however, I decided to uninstall, then re-install the AV beta again.
I am now temporarily using the beta activation and not my personal license and hoping that this is a known error that will soon be rectified, we shall see. Thank you again.

One further question if I may, I'm using Online Armor 5 with it's HIPS switched on, is it wise to keep the Nod HIPS switched off to avoid any conflicts or slow downs? (it's currently set to off in nod btw)
Thank you once more.

Could anyone help me with the HIPS advice now please? As in I have HIPS in my firewall (Online Armor 5) which is switched on and I have HIPS turned off in the AV Beta, is it *safe* to turn it on in Nod too, or can that cause conflicts?
Thanks in advance.
