Default Man sentenced in Camden for releasing massive computer virus

Quote:
A computer programmer who created a worldwide virus that infected thousands of computers and attacked media websites that had published a story with embarrassing details about his love life will have to spend two years in a federal prison.

In sentencing 48-year-old Bruce Raisley on Friday, U.S. District Judge Robert B. Kugler cited the importance of treating cyber crimes seriously.

"The message does need to be sent that we can't have people taking these kinds of actions," Kugler said during the hearing in Camden. Along with the prison term, Raisley was ordered to pay more than $90,000 in restitution.
