If the incompatibility is due to using the same Kernel hook, then there is nothing that can be done about it on XP.

It should not be an issue on Vista and beyond as Kernel hooks are not used by AppGuard for either of those OSs.

Thanks for the info Barb! I was just wondering since I've been recommending AG to other users. I didn't want to cause a conflict with their current security software.

When you select AppGuard in the list, you should see the version number in the bottom of the list.

I'm sorry for the anoyance, but we will be releasing 3.4 shortly (in the next few days) and that *should* solve the issue in a couple of ways. First, once installing version 3.4 you should no longer receive the upgrade message related to 3.3, and second when we do come out with a subsequent releases (3.5 and beyond), the 3.4 version has been modified to only notify about upgrades once per release.

Before I read this ,I tried to uninstall and reinstall ,however when trying to uninstall there was a problem with appguard saying uninstaller not found ,so rather than trying to fix this i restored an image from a week or so ago ,and its working fine now with no pups.Out of curiosity though ive noticed the file size on my installtion is larger than yours. Is that because of rules ive added ?. (yours is 5.07 mine is 5.14)

The size difference would be due to 64 bit vs 32 bit OS. The number of rules would not affect the size displayed in Programs and Features.

I have a couple of concerns and would appreciate any and all feedback

1) While this thread provides many positive anecdotes about Appguard I can't seem to find any objective third party testing about this product.

2) Does Kernel Patch Protection have any impact on the effectiveness of the 64 bit version?

Thanks again!

While I can't provide an objective third-party opinion (I provide AppGuard support for Blue Ridge - the product developer), I can answer your 2nd question: Kernel Patch Protection does not impact the effectiveness of the 64 bit version.

hey there,

currently running Appguard along with Sandboxie and MSE but there's one strange thing since I installed MSE. It's is nothing to be concerned about actually but Appguard behaves differently at startup now. When I first boot up my computer the Appguard system tray icon shows a red X meaning it is turned off for a few seconds and then turns back to the green checkmark. I think it has to do with MSE but I'm not sure. I added MSE and Sandboxie as PowerApps.

I have noticed the same thing, I am trialing Online Armor with Sandboxie and Shadow Defender on demand. I'm sure that I have everything setup correctly. I have noticed it for a few weeks

Since I installed the new version of Opera, Appguard blocks sound from the browser. It's pretty obvious that this happens because the browser is a 64bit application.

I hope this will also be fixed within the next release. I know they will fix the audio device problem on 64bit OS where Appguard interferes.

I need AppGuard 3.4 now!

Yeah, I hope it comes out this week. I have not been using AG on my Laptop because I experienced several bugs that have been reported. I feel so naked without it.

We're very close. No one wants this release delivered more than I do. I can say with about 95% confidence it will be out this week.

Finally! It's not officially released, BUT it will be sometime in the next few days. I convinced the Product Manager to agree to give you all a sneak peak. You can download it from:
http://appguardus.com/beta_download/AppGuardSetup.exe
http://appguardus.com/beta_notes/App...eNotes_3_4.pdf
Even though the links say "beta", this will actually be an official release.

I'm unable to add a folder from C:\ Program files or C:\ Program files (x86) as a power app. I can add a file within the folder as a power app, but i'm unable to add the entire folder as a power app. I was able to add an entire folder as a power app before this build. Is this expected behavior?

Its good to see its not just me. If this is unexpected behavior then this is a good reason why to release an RC here before releasing it to the general public.
