After installing Windows 7 /64 service pack 1 web protection and email scan goes off and become unavailable to activate. Can you please advise?

Try uninstalling ESS, running "netsh int tcp reset" and installing the latest version of ESS from scratch.

Re-set your TCP/IP stack via this MS KB article Use the Fix-It for me Wizard at the middle of the link.
