Tite says it all really. I want to just use scan+removal (not shield) but what's the point in buying Prevx when i could just buy HitManPro which is simply better than prevx because it has Prevx engine + others...

It only has a fraction of the heuristics and engine used by the actual Prevx agent and we have a money-back guarantee on our malware cleanup (I don't believe Hitman Pro does the same) :)

I'd like to add that if Hitman Pro fails to detect the malicious behavior in a file (hence doesn't upload it to the cloud), you're unprotected. Most rouge softwares aren't detected by Hitman's scanner. Prevx can detect and remove it by its virus definitions in the cloud. Prevx does not solely depend on suspicious behavior of files.

Didnt convince me, sorry! Definitely purchasing HitManPro as detection in terms of scan seems to be clone to prevx!

    Thanks anyways

I don't think anyone was trying to 'convince' you.
What took place is probably more along the lines of you didn't understand.

You already knew what you was going to decide on so why bother asking for advice?

Well if you go here: http://www.surfright.nl/en/shop/hitmanpro and go to the bottom of the page you can buy Prevx and get Hitman Pro for free! The best of both worlds!

I am pretty certain that deal does not include all the protection modules of Prevx. I think it's the SafeOnline-version included in that bundle.

I bought this deal yesterday and the only thing I had to do was insert the license key under the "activate license" and BAM! Was in business, didn't even require a new install or new configuration. Just wanted to clear this matter to all.....:)

Did you get Prevx with all modules? (blocking, cleaner and SafeOnline)

Yes sir, I did. Didn't even have to do anything but activate the license. All my SO and scanning settings were intact. SURFRIGHT is an authorized reseller of a couple of programs, one being Prevx. Still had 14 days left on old license and wish I had held off activation until the last day. Oh well, thought it was a good purchase and didn't lose any protection. Plus also received license for 1 yr on Hitman Pro. :thumb: On the "license" tab, it clearly states:

Expiration: 363 days left - Removal and Protection License with Prevx SafeOnline Browser Security.

The topicstarter was comparing Hitman Pro to Prevx with removal license only. But it seems he left the topic anyway.

Thank you all for your replies.

I'm under the impression that both Prevx 3.0 and HitMan Pro are "in the cloud" software, but I could be wrong.

If HitMan Pro advertizes a deal to get it and Prevx 3.0 I'd think that they would not conflict. But I still don't know.

Any other replies/comments will be appreciated.

    Thank you again.

Hitman Pro is on-demand only, no realtime protection, so no conflicts there. Plus Prevx 3 is designed to run along other realtime protection.

I agree with HitGuyPro for basic Scan and Remove Hit Man Pro seems to be the better product. Aside from chest beating bloviation I have not heard anything even closely resumbling quantitative proof from Prevex Help. Prevex Help was asked to defend their product line and in my estimation failed to do so.

It's funny, but HitGuyPro's only two posts in these forums are the ones in this thread.

Welcome to Wilders, congratulations for your first post and I hope we have better luck with you, pcdoctor36!

Correct me if I am wrong here, but hitman pro is on demand with mutilple vendors no real time heuristcis monitoring the system 24/7 like prevx, hence how could it be a clone. Also Prexv support is top notch as seen in on going threads.IMO its like having a 45 cal on my belt or in my safe.To each there own pick your poison and be happy.

What about those of us who bought the PRevex Complete Internet Suite (the black border box) from a brick and mortar store? That has the whole PREVEX 3 suite and it costs $69.99, is there a way to get a HiTMAN PRO lic from that or are those users out of luck?

It's always exciting when threads from 7 months ago come back...

Comparing Prevx to Hitman Pro is comparing apples to lawn chairs. They serve very different purposes - scanning is just one small component of the entire Prevx solution and the Prevx scanner within Hitman Pro is a fraction of the full scan/heuristics engine.
