    Hi:

I just switched to Windows 7 64 Bit so I downloaded the 64 bit version of NOD32 Antivirus and was expecting the 4.2.67.10 as indicated on ESET's page. Instead I received 4.2.71.2. I couldn't find any reference to this in a search I did. Does anyone know anything about this version? Thanks, Kent

    Hello,

I just downloaded v4.2.67 from ESET's servers. Can you tell me where you downloaded this file from?

    Regards,

As soon as up uninstalled the old version and installed the new one, I checked and, I too see version 4.2.71.2

I really wish the md5 hash/sha 1 were easily available for me to compare!

Downloaded 10 mins ago from the ESET downloads page. CRAP! o_O

The upload process of several dozens of GB takes hours to complete. The availability of new installers will be announced shortly and the version information and changelog updated as well (this never happens immediately, there's a small time gap until all the information propagates to the servers).

I thought I downloaded it directly from ESET. I had to input my password just as usual. This is the link. I downloaded the 64 bit version Home PC Users http://www.eset.com/download

very unusual to get the update before it's posted here, I usually have a wait a couple of days for the update after it's announced here.

It would best to not make the update available for download until it has been announced or listed on Eset's website. The MD5, and SHA1 check sum should also be available with the download link.

Does this also mean the problem with the firewall blocking the connection after some time running after coming out of stand-by or hibernate?

A fresh install is generally better although you may install over top, as it where. Export your settings first. Additional information here

I'd debate that for a straightforward update like this. This is not a major version update and in any case the install process will cleanly close down NOD32, ending running processes and services, re-install and restart. That's the way Eset have designed it and it works smoothly.

And I will 2nd JeremyWW's comment above. Best to my knowledge, have always installed right on top of the old and chose "Keep Current Settings" when installing the new version. Been using NOD for about 4 years now and never had a failure. Really like the way ESET has programmed installing over old versions. Works for me! ;)
