I recently installed a webcam and now when I start an XP VM in Virtualbox 4 the webcam camera turns on. The webcam software is not installed in the VM and the webcam is not showing in the Device Manager. I don't actually want to use the webcam in the VM so I'd like to figure out how to turn it off. Any thoughts about how to proceed? TIA

Go into the start up manager and un- check the box so that the camera needs to be started manually.
Just remember to turn it back off again after you use it.
I did that with mine in Windows 7Pro x64 and it's not giving me any problems.
    Hope this helps.
