I've been reading that Threatfire is no longer developed, and I think it has been a while since it has had an update. Is it dead? If so, what is an alternative? So far though it's had nothing but false positives for me.

There is a beta of threatfire going on for a long time... but seems abandon:rolleyes:

As an alternative there is Mamutu (not free) from Emsisoft!

No, it doesn't update anymore, and yes, it is ABANDONWARE. :thumbd:
Mamutu is the only option if you are looking for a pure Behaviour Blocker.

Thats too bad. There is still the custom rules feature though which still could make it valuable.
Does anyone know which file rules are stored in for future reference?

Well that blows. I guess it still does its job though, and it will become obsolete once Avast's behavior shield does more than monitor. Once GesWall 3.0 comes out, I won't need to worry about infections anymore.

They are supposedly testing a beta for it but there's not much info coming from the PCTools camp. Feedback from devs & mods over there has gone downhill since the Symantec acquisition. My guess is Symantec is running another promising company directly into the ground.

I haven't trusted PC Fools since the reliable Spyware Doctor 4. Version 5 was a disaster, and they continued their ineptitude in the free A/V. Being acquired by Symantec won't make it any worse than it already is.

Good news. I know others have had some conflict issues, but always liked TF.

Hope this new release and the next one deliver the goods. :thumb:

Has anyone tried both Threatfire and Mamutu? I used Mamutu for over a year, but recently a conflict developed on my computer, so I've disabled it. Would Threatfire be a suitable replacement for Mamutu?

Some people say the other way round, ThreatFire caused a conflict, mamutu didn't.

I've used ThreatFire for years, on several PCs, with no problems (later replaced these with MSE + prevx). Used mamutu as well. My opinion, very similar programs and levels of protection.
