It recognizes the reader but not the card
"please insert a disk into removable disk"
I tried with another card....same thing
The wild goose im chasing right now is trying to change system permissions on windows\system32\drivers folder from special only to damn near everything
    w7 wont let me

It is a generic external universal reader

Im running windows 7, geswall, avast free, immunet, comodo firewall only,
    on an ibm thinkcenter 808521u

I've got the same problem. I assume the reader is "broken". Can you try another one? My second reader works.

It worked on xp so im thinking its either permissions or hardware compatibility.
    Its an old generic model.

When attached can you see who the manufacturer is in device manager? Is there a name on the device.

Edit: check out the last post on this page.

I cant find manufacturer info on reader or device manager just:
"usb 2.0 card reader"on the reader
That was a different problem as it appears to be installed correctly in device manager though i dont know why its listed under disk drives
(genereic usb sd reader usb device)
