Signs for a free Bitdefender coming soon?

I was over at the Comodo forums reading through the general software discussion when a user posted that Bitdefender Free contained real time protection on the Brazil site.

So using the wonderful Google Translate I was able to find the BR Bitdefender free link via the Comodo post and translated the page. To my surprise the faq says Bitdefender has basic live virus protection in the free version. I see no traces to an American Equivalent but maybe its a sigh of things to come?

the comparison page shows free with no realtime protection

 

Odd I just checked again and now it says that when a moment ago it was different from what I can tell.

 

A free Bitdefender with realtime protection would be great

 

I've tested it quickly on my VM with some mdl links and it has a real time protection afaik.

The comparison page makes no mentions to real-time protection to neither of the versions.

 

Awesome so it does seem like that version of the free has real time protection if I understand the pic right.

I wonder if they will be releasing a free version in full English?

 

Well done - who can change the GUI to English?

 

Or we just use the language it comes in? It can't be that much different from the English version layout.

But that's the old version 10 without realtime protection - Version 2011 with realtime protection is only available in Brasil-Portuguese for now

 

I see what you mean. I know the Brasil-Portguese version asked that I took off Avast & Windows Defender (which isn't on!). This version installed no problem and is doing a scan. I'll take it off later today.

Wonder how the pro and internet security versions would have done in the test.

 

As far as I know Bitdefender doesn't contain a behaviour blocker, I guess they rely on the strong heuristics?!

 

I thought they had the B-have behavior monitor/blocker? I could be wrong.
