You know how it is... give 'em an inch and they want a mile!
    Terrible, isn't it? :)
You guys just bumped the PM count to 100 not too long ago, which was very thoughtful.
But I'm scrounging around for room again... deleting old ones and saving others... trying to work within the limits.
Any chance you might spring for some more storage space for PM's? :doubt:

I am sitting on 99...:D How about bumping it up to 150? :D

P.S. I have had to delete quite a few in the last few months to stay within the current limit.

"If people want to keep all their PMs, then technically no limit would ever be enough ..." - I agree with the captain. Be resourceful.

Really, GF, how would an increase in PM capacity impact you?
If it wouldn't, why do you advocate for not increasing?

GlobalForce was quoting something I wrote the last time people asked about a PM storage increase. I did increase it, however, it remains true that no amount of PM storage will be enough if people think of it as having to save all their PM on the forum. Once you reach the next limit, you'll need even more. What I do, rather than increasing my own PM limit, is export all my PM to a TXT file (per the available options) and save only the most recent few. And do that whenever it fills up again. I have thousands of PM exported to files since I tend to get a lot of messages here.

Anyway, I've added another increased level (150) using the built-in usergroup promotion system based upon longer membership duration and post count. Two years of membership and high post count (500+) will qualify, as will 4 years and 250+ posts. The system will auto-update those that qualify some time tonight.

Thanks for the kind accommodation, LWM.
The increased level should help us as we strive for PM resourcefulness. :)
    That it did. :thumb:

I'm an eight year member, but have only 128 posts.

Is verbosity the way we pay our dues?

I'm still stuck on a 100 PM limit.
