    Does this have real time protection (virusbuster)? Also, is the firewall the same as the stand alone free version?

    Give a little spin at it and for the home user it's not bad. One more option.
    Three points only:

    1 - Looks like the behavior I encountered trialing the Pro version sometime ago still. After install, before restart you can open the Settings panel. If you disable the Automatic rules creation option, after restart it's still creating automatic rules (this was present even in the 6x version).

    2 - Why remove from the free version the option to break a connection?

    3 - The adblocker (not the web filter/ID protection) will be a nice touch to it.

    Wow even otpost now free
    i dont understand free vs pro chart ... free has 2 stars and pro has 3..whats the difference ??

    Also I noticed this free suite notes it has Anti-Virus protection, the pro versions calls it Anti-Malware protection.

    Now we all know the pro version contains:
    - signatures for the VirusBuster engine;
    - signatures for the Agnitum in-house anti-spyware (which is also included in the PRO firewall).
    So could it be possible the second one is not available in this suite. And that could also be an explanation for the two-out-of-three stars rating.

    Unfortunately no.

    Well, sort of. You can turn it off but the additional code is still loaded. In other words: with or without anvirus/antispam, resource usage is the same.

    However... Is this is some kind of a bad joke? I checked the date and it's not the 1st of april. I installed the "free" suite on a virtual machine. It still requires activation and it expires in 2 days! The trial of the paid/pro/full version at least expires in 30. This not only makes the "free" version not free at all, but even less "free" than the paid one.
    Seriously, am I missing something or is this someone's idea of having fun? Because I'm not laughing.

    You have to register the free version. Enter your name and e-mail and they send you a free 1-year license for the free edition.

    Oh. Didn't see it at first. Wow, they really made it rather difficult to spot. Why make it simple and convenient for the user if it can be confusing and inconvenient, right?
    Still, the whole "we want to basically force our crappy antivirus to our users" concept is not to my liking. They should've made also a standalone version of the firewall + HIPS - the 2009 version, just updated. Or at least an option for customized install. But noooo!

    I consider this normal and ok.I mean Agnitum lets you use for one year this product for free.Nothing wrong ,we had that with Avast and it s a good thing if you want to know the number of users.
    The problem is that Outpost 7 works crappy on my PC even without AV.
    Does this version have Atack Detection enabled or the Atack plug in is disabled as in OF 6.5 free ?
    I mean what exactly is different from OF Pro 7 in the firewall section ?
    If the firewall is full working i may start telling my friends to use it.

    What's missing in the free suite:
    - locking/protecting program settings with a password;
    - importing and exporting settings;
    - automatic/daily database updates;
    - attack detection;
    - IP blocklist;
    - scheduled on-demand scans;
    - application guard;
    - file & folder lock;
    - ID theft protection;
    - web filtering (site blacklist, ad blocking, site blocking);
    - multilanguage support.

    They just ask you for your name and email address, then they send you a key. Sorry, I can't do a screen capture, I uninstalled it earlier today.

    "VirusBuster engine core driver" won't connect. "Currently this hardware device is not connected to the computer [Code 45]... Rebooted a few times and still won't connect. Think am going back to avira and private firewall.

    Downloaded it after removing my current AV and firewall.

    Outpost, for whatever reason, doesn't like my PC. Noticeable slowdown and the AV wouldn't connect. Tried rebooting twice, still no go.

    I'm back with ZA pro (latest version) and AVAST free, along with Sandboxie 3.50

    I use Comodo and i have to say that the company behind Outpost should be ashamed to make such statement.This is a cheap marketing for newbies.

    A complete security suite consists of:
    1. Antivirus
    2. Firewall
    3. Antispam

    CIS is not complete because it lacks the antispam component.

    However Outpost is NOT the first totally free security suite.
    The first is FortiClient it offers a complete suite.

    Thanks.:)

    Joe,
    If you use Comode..why are you here?
    and I would not lose any sleep over it!
    Comode has a lot of catching up to do with that tarnished
    reputation for sure, atleast Agnitum has some morals
    and speaks the truth in what they produce and sell!

    What is really amazing is who really cares, whom hasn't been to a hotdog or burger joint you all
    been to that say they have or make the best burger or dog this side of the mississippi
    or from here to kingdom come...jealousy or paranoia will destroy ya!!

    I am not jealous or paranoid and will never be.I'm not saying that Comodo is moral,but Agnitum by saying that they are offering THE FIRST full free suite...is it moral?It's a plain lie.As i said.....marketing strategies for average Joe's.
    Ok,i'll stop here with his subject.
    Back to topic,it's really a shame that the firewall has no advanced options,like block IP or attack detection.The other are not important to me.
