" It is fully-functional, and you may install it either fresh, or on top of an existing Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.46 installation."

Installed over 1.46 with no problems. I really like the changes. Does feel quite a bit lighter than 1.46.

In what way do you see it using less resources? CPU, Disk IO, or memory?

Ram seems the same to me (low 30 megs). Too early for me to comment on disk and CPU.

I'm very excited about this release, Bruce.
The changes look impressive, to say the least.

I really appreciate and admire that you folks try your best to assign a timeline to the beta, i.e... "Barring any significant issues, we expect the beta program to last approximately three weeks, and be followed by the public release of 1.50"... inasmuch as I see other products whose users have to ask the dev what YEAR he intends to release the next version!

XP VM.

Cold start is about the same.

Resource usage when scanning about the same.

Scan time much faster but less objects scanned.

Install/startup protection against exe killing rogues should be a priority IMHO.

Self protection was put on hold for this version to deal with many other issues that affect more users. Since pro mode wont let the rogue in to begin with it wont be killing anything. We all know the story about running after infection, the malware is the AV and if they target our software there are limited options available to break into a system.

Self protection and breakin tech are slated for the next major version as well as some other things many of you have all asked for but for now, lets keep this about this current set of improvements.

For me Ram usage is the same, or even slightly higher, at about 35meg. Disk IO still high. CPU time may be less, which is good.

Oddly quick scans take the same 5-6 minutes they did with version 1.46. So overall I am not seeing much difference.

So many people are saying it "feels" lighter, which I don't buy. You need to compare metrics. Most people say Win7 feels much lighter than Vista, even though benchmarks show in most tasks there is only a 2-3% performance difference. In other words, feelings can be deceptive.

Lets see yours as well, the more systems the better. The best way to do this is to do a fresh boot and quick scan with both 1.46 and 1.50. Also post your basic system specs.

Bruce - are there incompatibilities with MBAMs real-time protection and AVG Free?
