Hi,
I have an acer ferrari netbook which I've installed a windows 7 (64 bit) dual boot linux on and everything is now working fine and I want to image backup the whole drive. I downloaded the paragon advanced free backup tool, which shows me LVM Hard Disk 0 (Toshiba MK2555GSX ATA device) in the Disk view and LVM Hard Disk 0 (Toshiba MK2555GSX ATA device) *twice* in the Disk map. If I run the backup wizard I get my computer and then LVM hard disk 0 *twice* and both tick boxes are unselectable. (Just greyed out). Which means I can't backup anything. I had hard disk suite 2008 which worked well on my old XP pc but won't work on windows 7 so I'm looking for a new solution. The only complication I can think of is that it's an acer netbook with their recovery partitions, plus my linux partition = 5 primary partitions. It all works fine though, the only problem is that I can't backup using the paragon tool. It's taken my forever to configure the netbook the way I want and I'm desperate to back it up. Any help very much appreciated. Steve |

LVM drives are not supported. Paragon programs support Linux ExtFS for backup & restore, but only if HDD type is Basic MBR.

RE: LVM drives are not supported
Oh wonderful. (but thanks for the reply, much appreciated). Are there any backup tools out there that do support them? Steve |

In case anyone else has a similar problem, it seems clonezilla will do
what I want. ie: backup LVM, dual boot etc. Steve |
