For over a decade, Diskeeper has led the way in Windows system defragmentation technology, and Diskeeper 2010 continues with the tradition of true Set It and Forget ItŽ performance enhancement that is a hallmark of the Diskeeper name. Whether you've used Diskeeper before or not, you may already be familiar with some of its features, but Diskeeper 2010 adds refinements to these features, and a number of other core enhancements. New users will find Diskeeper to be easy to use, yet comprehensive in its capabilities. Experienced Diskeeper users will recognize familiar features, but see improvements in Diskeeper (and their system) performance. Diskeeper 2010 with IntelliWrite prevents up to 85% of fragmentation and makes every system faster and more efficient than ever before possible. When fragmentation occurs, I/O resources have already been wasted. Now most fragmentation can be prevented, significantly speeding up file reads and writes, boot-ups, backups and AV scan. Clean fragmentation-proof disks last longer, use less energy, require less cooling and zero administrative support. Diskeeper also includes powerful defrag engines for what isn't prevented and runs in real-time, with zero resource conflicts.

    * Changes in 14.0.909.0:
    * Made improvements to the Performance Report.
    * Fixed issue relating to service shutdown or IFAAST engine startup.
    * Modified file movement process to better integrate with SQL Server.
    * Enhanced Exclusion List event reporting.
    * Modified registry settings to check VSS state only once per day.

    Diskeeper is run by Scientologists.

just Goggle "diskeeper & scientology" without the quotes.

Did you actually pay $49.95 for defrag software??

If so, do you think its worth it?

Puran Defrag is very good and free.

i think it's the only free defrag that can defrag system files at boot time. :)

I no longer have ANY confidence in Diskeeper!

I have been using Diskeeper Pro Premier on a Vista 64 system for over 2 years now. It ran flawlessly.

Now, Diskeeper Pro Premier running on my new Windows 7 64x system is so damn buggy I can not use it any more.

Soon after installation it starts saying that I have no volume shadow copy and it enables I-Faast (program start up acceleration) which is a no-no on a VSC disk. If I manually disable I-Faast, Diskeeper then says that I have no paging file.

The updated version is even worse in this regard. It does not recognize the presence of a volume shadow copy from the git-go, immediately when installed.

BTW: I know I have a volume shadow copy because my System Restore still works when this happens. And when I uninstall and reinstall the first version of Pro Premier 2010 DK it again recognizes my VSC.

When all of this happens the amount of free space on my drive starts to decrease.

In addition, an analysis of my drives may show 50 fragments but when the defrag is done it will say it defragged 100 fragments.

I have installed and uninstalled it at least 20 times on a new PC with Windows 7 but it happens every time.

I notice that the Diskeeper website claims that the program is compatible with Windows 7. Well maybe it's compatible with their Windows 7 system but it sure as hell ain't compatible with mine.
