Been using Clonezilla-live for quite awhile.
Now the updates have become a problem for me. In the past I have been using i686 ISO. NOW, there is Maverick.iso, Lucid.iso. and i686.iso Which one do I use, pray tell ??Answers from the Clonezilla forum are few and far between. |

If the i686 iso has been working for you, just continue to use that one....

Exactly, besides the i686 and x64 are considered as the stable branch and for a backup/imaging program that's the only branch I would recommend. If you have a 64-bit computer you might trying out the x64 version and gain some benefits in speed.

Thanks guys for answering.
My puter is running Vista business and PcLinuxOs 32bit. My last backup hiccuped a bit on the PcLinuxOs image for sdb1 using the i686 iso for Clonezilla-live. The rest seemed to go ok. So I am Not really sure I have a good backup of the Linux Partition. Will download the latest i686.iso and hope whatever error occurred has been fixed. The download of Clonezilla-live v.1.2.6-24-i686.iso shows 126.9k on the clonezilla site. My download shows 121k for this version. I wonder what's going on...... I just tried a backup using Clonezilla-live V. - 1.2.6-24-i686.iso.
It would not start. This is the one where the site said the file size was 126M+. The download size was 121M. I had to go back to a previous version to get a decent backup. V. -1.2.5-38-i686.iso |
