Default Scribus isn't bad at all. It's good.

Unlike some posters on this forum I like Scribus (desktop publishing).
It will come in very handy for newsletters that I may soon be writing for the
small cluster housing estate we have just moved to.
Bonus is that the program is easy to use and has a rather powerful styles editor.

Of course, it's in the (U)buntu repositories.
