Why is New License cheaper than Renewal?

Just wondering why...

Renewal: 3PC x 3yr adding SafeOnline to my license = £130

New Full License: 3 PC x 3yr (including SafeOnline) = £113

Doesn't seem right somehow?

I've come to realize the license-system is a joke. Had to move on even though I had 2/3 of my license left. It's too bad, because Prevx truly is an amazing product.

Well if that is correct, then Prevx is the only security vendor that I know of that actually has a Higher Re-newal price compared to when you bought the product the first time

Yes, I stand by the statement I made above. The licensing system is a bad joke and a taunt towards the customers. I rest my case.

Apparently you never tried to renew/extend the license for a Symantec product.

Could you send me your current license key? This is indeed odd but could be due to modifications on your license if you've had us add extra PCs for multi-OS support (for example).

From the other thread, you're running into an actual software issue which we'd definitely like to work around - it would seem like a waste to have you move on when we can certainly make changes to fix it for you

I hate to be of any disturbance, but I've had my license reset, twice, and still get the same error from time to time.
But, as I wrote in the same post, I find Prevx amazing. I have no idea what kind of workaround you're putting time in. Please, don't take it personal, as I know how much time you put into every personal issue we users experience. Heck, you're even checking in here on a sunday! But I can't take it no more. I've been instructed such and such. I did it, it did not work out. So I guess I was doing something wrong. Yet, if it weren't for the license system, it'd work I figure. I share a computer with me and my family. I have bank accounts, e-mails and very important documents which I can't leave unprotected whenever's there's a glitch (which I've actually wrote about, twice). If it's possible to fix, I'd gladly revert back to Prevx. But I am getting the feeling this is not just some sort of glitch, but due to the re-installations of Windows and re-installations of Prevx I've done on each of those occasions. My personal opinion is that I should be able to do this, without any hick-ups because I spent a lot of money into Prevx.

I think you do a fantastic job but the licence issue is totally ridiculous.

I have just one laptop and I purchased a single licence. As I am a beta tester, I continually reformat.

Joe from PevX provideded me two extra licences, which made three licences for one machine, and I can only use one.

I too think Prevx is great but the time has arrived when I must move on and leave PrevX.

While I understand people don't appreciate all of the aspects of our licensing system, I have not been contacted about this and I don't believe our support team has either... We almost never refuse helping someone out with their license, and MyPrevx is written to allow users to manage their own licenses (up to a point).

I know our licensing system has flaws which can cause annoyances when reformatting/reinstalling the OS, but it seems like a big waste of money to have people just stop using the product when myself and the rest of the support team usually fix licenses within less than 10 minutes 7 days a week

Very true I have never had a problem getting my license reset either with you Joe (PrevxHelp) or the Prevx Support inbox, and if I have to do a reinstall of the OS I just plan ahead and uninstall Prevx from the machine and contact support and by the time I need to install Prevx again I'm ready to install my license key!

Hi,

If Joe (Pevex help) gives me two free licences which have the identical reference I believe this is a disaster waiting to happen.

As I am a beta tester, the disaster happened.

My position: I puchase a licence and problems occur. Joe agrees that I had a problem and provides two free licences. I now have three licences.

In frustration, I uninstall Prevx thus losing the priviledge and satisfaction of using PrevX. I reformat and I find that I can use one licence.

This is not Joe's fault, and I accept partial blame but I am the net loser.

The two licences that I cannot now use are the licences that Joe(Prevx help) provided me.

If you could please send me the licenses you're having problems with, I can get them reset or have new licenses issued - you are a legitimate user and we understand that you may reformat more frequently than other users - fixing the licenses is never a problem and it is just as easy to artificially extend a license

No one from Support has contacted me about my previous message. I am now getting error messages (L055) although the application is woking fine.

As a beta tester I think PrevX will lose a few good customers because of this "hitch" in the licence procedure - me included.

In addition, repeated licensing error popups on a laptop connected to an interactive whiteboard with 30 people in front of it watching every click I take are not the kind of advertisement you have in mind, correct? Seems like more and more license issues appear. I can't begin to understand how embarrassing that must've been. However, I am glad PrevxHelp is here to help us and even replace our current keys with new ones, if needed. It seems he is of great understanding when it comes to the Wilders who experiment with malware & new security setups each day to provide more information to the security companies. I myself need to take weekly images on my main partition so that I won't hit the L055 error again. No more re-formating for me. And, as Joe pointed out, we could easily get new keys... not sure that actually solves the CHK008 error though.

I agree. PrevX for three machines can be more expensive than NIS or KIS for three machines. PrevX is a very good product but with other upcoming cloud products like Immunet, Prevx is going to be priced out soon. Its also unfair that SafeOnline is free if you download via Facebook.

I won't argue with the price of Prevx as it's up to every company itself to sell their product for what they think it's worth. But I disagree that it's unfair that SafeOnline is free if you download via Facebook. Everyone can do it and therefore it's not unfair.
