Not "next". "Already".
RFID is not some untested future technology. It's currently being used and has been for some time. The only differences are in implementation. Put an RFID chip in the packaging of a retail product, and it helps prevent theft. Embed one in your passport or drivers license (as is currently being done or proposed in several states), and you're wide open for personal tracking and other abuses. There's some scientist or researcher somewhere who has already voluntarily implanted one underneath the skin of his arm. The technology is not new, only the current and future proposed implementations. Those implementations are something we should all be very, very concerned over-- and most of them should be adamantly opposed, imo. |

You would be surprised what everyday gadgets and items already contain this sort of tech ready and waiting to be used.
