Prevx had partial fails on days 1 - 2 but since has passed Zemana still the only one with 100% pass rate from day 1

@Cloneranger

I thought that the 3/4 black icon was still considered a pass,just to do with whether the blocking was not completely automated.

My memory is on shaky ground now.

@andyman35

Yes it's considered a pass, not 100%. 3/4 as you say.

Your memory is fine

This is getting serious now,I'm impressing myself.

It's clear though that Zemana has,to use the language of the kids 'pwned' this test.Also it seems that in general internet security suites have a way to go on this type of protection.

It already completely blocked the simulator from stealing the login info because how it works, it just blocks every method of stealing. I didn't get 100% in the beginnen because it didn't detect the simulator, but it was blocked anyway and it detected the simulator later, then it got 100%

If you set up Zemana in 'Expert' mode with the settings in my screeny it almost becomes default deny. Tried to install something yesterday that it seems was not a completely certified application and it never installed, nothing. Have tried several nasty Rogue AV against Zemana with these settings and they never saw light of day. Very much underrated

I'm with you now,so in fact it's a fairly subtle distinction between the full black and the 3/4.

TBH I've not really paid a great deal of attention to Zemana ,up until now I considered it a niche product but from what you're saying it has hidden depths.

I prefer these "my own expert" settings.

Same here.

@ CloneRanger - Can you post a screen shot of the greyed out settings, seems very strange.

It's not the settings that are greyed out, as in not working, just has a grey appearance ?

I know one is greyed out though, not sure why ?

Wonder if it's because i have XP in classic mode ?

Effenct of blocking an application>>>Let it run but block suspicious activities

It is not safe settings. Zemana will block trojan for keylogger activities but wont block remote file, ie, firefox password stealing, and other many activities.

Return to that screen, click the Default button.
That setting should un-grey.

It turned grey I guess it's meant to be, as they "could" interefere with each other otherwise maybe ?

Thanks

Back @ ya CloneRanger

I had some serious back and forth with their support early last year on these two seemingly overlapping settings and it lead me to conclude that this configuration
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showp...38&postcount=7
is the most protective. As I "Ask for confirmation" for everything, I examine Zemana's alert and when I Block, I Terminate, period. Also, under the General Settngs all I have checked are "Activate Anti-SSL..." and "Activate Anti-Sound..." This, I perceive, provides Zemana a clearly local autonomy.

"Let it run but..." and "...but don't terminate it" are just another way of saying, "Well gosh, let's see what happens." Which is, of course, OK if you're playing around.

I believe the checked but grayed out "Block an application's attempt..." is the same as ungrayed and unchecked.

Anyway, this is way, way off-topic and further dialogue really should launched in a new thread. Some one start it if needed.

I only hopped in as I'm pleased Zemana is finally getting some recognition here where it has mostly suffered misunderstanding, misinformation and, at the hands of the Spy Shelter fanboys, unwarranted and unsubstantiated slamming. I do think SS is a stellar app but IMHO needs some maturity to gain mainstream trust in the anti-badstuff channels.

End of discussion on my part.

Question Re: New MRG test results

Had a look at the latest online results.

Name:  mrg-peg.gif

Size:  11.0 KB

Seems as if PEGuard is now included in the tests. I wouldn't have expected PEG to be a suitable candidate in these type of tests. Maybe someone can clarify ?
