Will there ever be a coporate version of Spyware Blaster and Spyware Guard. I want to push the out to my company, but since there is no central installation point other than the automatic update feature it does nto quite help me. Are they any possibilities of it going in that direction

as javacool has stated in many threads, their is a network version that will work with multiple pcs

Quote:
That said, there is a Network Version of SpywareBlaster that is being developed that will allow easy updating and protection for multi-computer setups. No ETA yet, but it is actively being worked on.

that was a quote from another thread he replied too, do a search for "network version" in the spyware blaster forum

good luck

Hi Javacool,

I only now tried to install 3.1
Sorry, I know how hard you work on your programs (and it is very much appreciated!!!), but I've got the same error message as some others.
Windows 98 SE Dutch, IE 5.5 SP2, P3 600, 512 MB RAM.
I had 2.6.1 installed.
Maybe I did something wrong....
Disconnected from the net, disabled AV, rebooted, closed all apps near the clock and in Contrl-Alt-Del except Explorer and Systray, deleted applog, run WindowWasher and MRUBlaster, did a quick scandisk, uninstalled version 2.6.1, deleted existing SpywareBlaster dir, installed 3.1, rebooted, started 3.1 and the error-message came-up.

MD5 checksum of the installation file:
The file <D:\SpywareBlaster\Version 3_1\spywareblastersetup31.exe> has the following Checksum(s)
MD5 - BFC312A531FCFCA5205FE385177CC5EA

As far as I know I don't have Viruses, Trojans, spyware on my system.

I will later run NISFileCheck and ADinf32 Pro to see what has been changed.

Thanks, keep up the good work !!!
Cheers, Jan

Hi,

I believe I've fixed this one for the next version, 3.2.

So no worries! (But your report is appreciated.)

Best regards,

Hi JC,

I opened my jv16 Power Tools (1.3) and looked for Registered File Types.
I didn't see .dtb mentioned in it.
I'm not sure here but shouldn't it be listed there...

I have the same problem. Unfortunately I am infected with some spyware and so far have not found any way to disinfect.

How soon do you plan to release 3.2?

Thanks and keep up the fight for all of us.

Cheers,
Tom

ignat,

That error generally occurs following a particular type of spyware occurrence on a PC. Take a look at this thread, but more importantly within the first response in that thread is a link to a lengthy thread where users have found various solutions to the problem. But, most of those solutions are complex so you may want to wait until Javacool finds an automated fix.

I am looking to do some unattended installs and I see that you are using Inno Setup. I am using "/silent /nocancel" The prog bar entertains the user and usually prevents them from restarting the PC.

What switches will enable protection or prevent the gui from loading.

Thanks, this thing rocks

I suppose I can use Kill to kill the process and reg import the settings.... or repackage it using winInstall... but I'd prefer to use the original package.

I have your new 3.1 installed on my three machines at home. I use two of them for my Greyhound rescue (non-profit). I just want to thank you'all for putting this out for people like me to use. It has saved me hours of maintenance on my machines. My computer budget is minimal (a 500mhz and a 1ghz both running ME). This helps me and what I do for our rescue allot. Thanks..........

I am unable to insall 3.1. I have Spyware Guard running and had SpywareBlaster operating at one time but then it wouldn't work so I uninstalled it and reinstalled and now I get this message after installing it:

"This program has been damaged, possibly by a bad sector of the hard drive or a virus. Please reinstall it."

I have run Spybot, McAfee, and Pestpatrol and found and deleted several trojans and hijackers. I'm guessing there's still something on my computer preventing me from installing Blaster.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Av8r

Welcome to Wilders.

There's quite an extensive thread on just this problem here,

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=26534

It seems to be caused by a CWS infection.

Hope this helps.

There are a couple threads on that already. Since it is a new version, and changed some properties, it is not yet support by SpywareBlaster:

New Firefox 0.9

Why does 3.1 not detect the Firefox browser. I just started using v0.9 and the "Protection: --> Firefox" button doesn't see that I have firefox installed.

I couldn't even connect to this forum using Firefox.

How or what can I do to tell spyblaster that I DO have Firefox installed.

Windows 2000 Pro, service pack 4

Thanks,

Andy

Just saw the answer in post #194.

Strange, Spywareblaster 3.1 had no problems finding Mozilla Firefox 0.8. After upgrading to Mozilla Firefox 0.9, Spywareblaster tells me there's no Mozilla/Firefox installed.

The Mozilla/Firefox crew changed a few things in their latest Firefox version (0.9), including the default profile directory.

SpywareBlaster 3.2, which I'm working on finishing right now, will add support for Firefox 0.9. (I can't estimate when it will be publically available, as it still will have to go through some testing, but I hope to have it out soon.)

Best regards,
