Default Plz help, stolen laptop

Hi, can someone from Eset admins help me to detnermine of IP address of my stolen laptop with NOD32 on it, if its possible.

A smart thief would DBAN your entire drive before ever using it -- and certainly before connecting to the Internet.

Or, do I misunderstand how criminals get caught with stolen laptops? I always figured the caught ones were the dumb ones.

They not smart, cause laptop was online for sure, that's why I'm asking to trace an IP.
