Not sure if anybody out there encountered where the update and computer scan menu item is not available or missing.

Problem is resolve if I uninstall and reinstall any version of the client again.
Or run a repair & reboot.

    I'm running server 2003 R2 with ESET v4.2.35.
NOD32 is set to advanced mode.
I don't think I can custom package to exclude Update/Computer Scan options.

Below is an attached screenshot showing the missing menu items...

Since this is occuring on a lot of our 2003 servers,...I would like to prevent this from occuring again so we don't have to schedule a down time for the servers to reboot after running a repair/reinstall.

I'm not sure of the cause, but I also saw this behavior on a 2003 server and rebooting it seemed to clear it up. I noticed it because the update component straight up breaks when this happens and the definitions stop getting pulled down.

ESET responded and it's a known bug when installing ESET via a RDP session.

The suggested work-around is to run a repair/reboot if your production environment allows you to reboot your server. o_O

I have noticed this same problem the past few days when installing on our servers.

there must be another way to fix this instead of rebooting the server?

Most of our servers we have to install remotely so this is a pain that we cannot run a scan or manually update nod until the server has been restarted.
