As posted on another site, the installer for 1.46 is acting funny. Several different issues going on. In my case, on XP, 1.46 installs twice before acting normal...

Glad it went ok for you. :) Wouldn't surprise me to see either a rerelease of 1.46 or a new 1.47 to fix some of these oddities though.

It took two reboots with a BSOD sandwiched in between before v1.46 was right for me.

We apologize for the issue with the double installation. Only users that manually check for updates are affected and the issue with the Spanish translation has been resolved as well. You can download the absolute latest version (direct download) from the link below.

As for the BSOD -- can you please private message me the minidump files so that I can send them for analysis. That should NOT be happening.

    Best regards,

    Marcin

Thank you; here is the information from the minidump.

    ERROR_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0x80000003 - {EXCEPTION} Breakpoint A breakpoint has been reached.

    Caused by vsdatant.sys.

Which appears to be part of ZoneAlarm. I would suggest sending it to their team for analysis!

    Best regards,

    Marcin

It happened while trying to update your program, on a machine that is not throwing out any BSODs, so...

While I agree with your statement, the crash happened with ZoneAlarm -- meaning they will NEED that minidump file to analyze the issue at hand. I've asked our development team to look into the issue but previous testing with ZoneAlarm showed no incompatibilities.

I updated from within v1.45 and got the message that says,
"The latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware has been downloaded. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware will now close and install the latest version."
    I clicked OK and rebooted.
On restart, there was a 2nd identical message from MBAM that said the same thing... "The latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware has been downloaded. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware will now close and install the latest version."
    I clicked OK
and got the blue screen of death.
Note: I am not 100% sure that the MBAM message said what I posted above, but both were MBAM messages on my desktop that I clicked OK on.

    Why did you rebooted ?

For me it was like this ....after update there was "The latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware has been downloaded. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware will now close and install the latest version." message , after OK button I started again MBAM and same message appeared.
That was weird , but when started for the third time everything is normal, no BSOD's either.

I had same experience as you with a Windows 7 netbook (free version MBAM).

However, I did experience the two reboots process on my WinXP SP3 laptop - minus the BSODs (paid version MBAM - without protection module enabled).

I am kinda worried about all the BSOD reports.

You shouldn't be as long as it doesn't affect your system. All the different system configurations makes it all messy, but you can only concentrate on your own cause there's nothing else to do.

I agree with raven211... you shouldn't be. Plus, unless I'm mistaken, I am the only one on this thread reporting a BSOD, and Marcin claims that was ZoneAlarm's fault. Proceed with confidence. MBAM is a quality program! :)

I can verify the double instalation issue as I just installed via update check.
