Default File Copy Program

Hi folks,

Im looking for a free utility (with a GUI preferably) that will allow me to copy files to multiple servers on a weekly basis. I don't really want to do batch files, and would rather have a GUI so I can just point and click.

I've searched the net for a bit but have not found anything I really like. Looking for some Wilders recommendations.

Thanks as always.

Maybe RichCopy or FreeFileSync would work.

Thanks I will look into the both of these. I'm trying to figure out if I should just write a batch file, or use a GUI interface to run a scheduled task.

What do you guys think would be easier?

I use FastCopy, although I'm not sure if it would meet your needs.

You can use it with drag-n-drop (with right button) or with gui, but for repeated tasks I use batch files. For example, to backup (changes only) my data partition (Z: ) to an external hard drive (T: ) I use the following command:

Quote:
FastCopy.exe /cmd=sync /estimate /exclude="*.avi" /auto_close Z:\ /to=T:\hpLaptop\Z_bak\

For me double-clicking the batch file every now and then when T: drive is connected is simpler than repeatedly entering the corresponding options and directories into a gui.

What about TeraCopy? Or is it something totally different than what your trying to do?

Thanks for the tips guys. I may just end up using a batch file in the end, was just looking for something GUI based that could maybe make my life easier.

SyncBack Free http://www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/compare.html

I use the paid pro version, but the free one on the feature list has backup/sync to FTP with email logs etc. It might do the job.

Make your life easier? Sure, mention the ones you didn't like, including accepted protocols.
