Default Returnil and antivirus programs

I hope this isn't a foolish question but I'm trying to understand Returnil before installing it.
Is an antivirus program really needed if Returnil is always on?
Thanks in advance.

Hi fred128,
Not a stupid question. We have discussed this in several threads that you should look at when you have a chance, but the gist is yes, you can use RVS 2010 as a stand alone solution. I do this myself here in the office and have no complaints. As a RVS rep however, you do not have to take my word for it and should experiment with your strategy with RVS to determine the optimal approach in your environment based on the threats you are likely to encounter.

Remember however, that RVS is designed to be used with the virtualization always on so it can leverage the native removal capabilities of the virtualization...
