I just got a notification when I used WinUtilities Pro that there was an update available.
While installing version 9.5 I discovered a default option to install the Ask toolbar. I unchecked that box but two other boxes are grayed out. They both involve Ask as homepage and default search engine. What I don't like at all is that there was an opt out only for the toolbar and not the home page or search engine. Just an FYI for anyone contemplating the upgrade to 9.5. *Edited to verify that the license expires "never" and was a GAOTD program.

I think they are greyed because no longer relevant when you untick the main option.
Besides, it you untick them from bottom to top, you'll get what you are looking for, at least visually.

That's basically what YL software's response was.
I'll have to try the install with opting out of the Ask toolbar. I'm curious as to why the Pro version has the toolbar in the download. Usually it's the free versions that have it. Unless that's a caveat with the GAOTD Pro giveaway.
