    Hi,
the description by the author(s) still sound interesting. But i would like to get some opinions from you experts here please.
(the last threads about this software are some months old...)

Can anybody report any rootkit/malware detections by unhackme ?

    thank you

    Not recently :(

Their www which you might think would proudly show off the latest RK threats it can eliminate, only has RK's from 2 - 3 years ago listed, that i saw anyway.

UnHackMe - Rootkit Removal Test List http://www.greatis.com/unhackme/UnHackMe_Rootkits_removal.htm

Experienced coders etc on http://forum.sysinternals.com/actual-2009-antirootkits_topic20007_page1.html havn't been too impressed with it. Some of those people also contribute on a new site http://www.kernelmode.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10 and it's not even listed :D

    EDIT

    Just seen this
    http://www.greatis.com/unhackme/download.htm

Why they don't show it more prominently ?

    How many clones though ?

    @FanJ

    Thanks for posting :)

I must admit i didn't have time to search all of their site, so didn't read the blog. Contrary to what others have said about Unhackme, it appears that it now is more proactive on detection/removal than has been reported before ?

    I did see this

    uhm.jpg

    But that's expected.

They definately should update this page http://www.greatis.com/unhackme/UnHackMe_Rootkits_removal.htm with more current examples, as it's very easy to think it only finds older RK's etc.

I take back what i said earlier, but it was posted in good faith based on several reports i'd read from people who should know, and had tested it. Obviously not recently :(

    Thanks CloneRanger and FanJ,

i had a look at their homepage too. This kind of big picture isn't really professional imo, but i wouldn't care if the product is good. Maybe it really is, but i'd like to see some independent tests. And i guess there'll be not too many other posts about detections or opinions of users here. Let's see.

    best regards

I used it for awhile. It is very fast. So fast, that it couldn't be examining very much. I also had a lot of false positives. There are better free scanners available.
