    It was a great HIPS. So were ProcessGuard and AppDefende/RegDefend and they are gone too. Unfortunately no major market as they are somewhat difficult to use.

    Now I have not been following this thread fully but why is Malware Defender now instantly bad now that it is in the hands of someone else? Have they hurt its power or something?

    Lots of speculation here, but no real facts. MD isn't dead, just somewhat less active than it once was. Xiaolin is still involved in the development, just working for 360safe now.
    Sure it's not a situation that users would like (we'd have preferred the old monthly updates with Xiaolin present on this forum), but there have been several updates since its 'death', so it's not 'gone' or 'dead' and there's no evidence it is now 'bad'. Xiaolin always said development and updates would become much less frequent once MD was mature.

    What's new in 2.7.2.0001?

    * Changed UI design.
    * Changed data structure and editing UI of application rule.
    * Added multi selection support for adjusting rule priority.
    * Fixed several bugs may cause BSOD.

    PS. This is a stable version. :)

    Thanks,
    Xiaolin

    Hi xiaolin,

    about to install it..noticed it has completely been removed from your original website.

    Translation of new website
    http://labs.360.cn/malwaredefender/index.html

    Is this going to be English & other language opportunities also?

    I installed this now. Seems to work just fine. Its one of the best HIPS program I have ever seen. Just wondering is this a Firewall? Should I install a firewall too or is this Application a Firewall?

    MD provides basic outbound protection using the Windows Base Filtering Engine. It is not a fully featured firewall and should be combined with either Windows Firewall or a hardware/router firewall.
