Default Windows Defender

I have been enjoying NOD32 for over a year now and today for the first time I had a window saying Windows Defender hasn't scanned in three days! Should Windows Defender be monitoring my system 'along with' NOD32?

In the Windows Security Center I see:
Firewall (on)
Automatic updating (on)
Malware protection) (on)
User Account Control (on)

Vista Home Premium w/Service Pack 2
64-bit Operating System

Thanks!

Default Re: Windows Defender

To be honest, it doesnt really matter. ESET NOD32 and Windows Defender are 100% compatible with eachother. Next to that Windows Defender is really light.

But the detection of Windows Defender (at default settings) doesn't really add something to NOD32, except for (maybe) false positives at cracks and keygens etc.

So it is your call. I disabled it (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit).

Microsoft Windows Defender is an antispyware program that comes enabled by default with Windows Vista and Windows 7. All ESET security products are completely compatible with Microsoft Windows Defender. Windows Defender does not contain any antivirus functionality, so you will not need to uninstall or disable Microsoft Windows Defender when installing your ESET security product.
From ESET Support here.
Check your settings as to why Windows Defender has not scanned as scheduled.

Lightbulb Re: Windows Defender

Windows Defender most likely missed a scan as I'm not up every night until 2AM! Thanks for mentioning that ... I'll adjust the schedule now that I know it is safe to do so.
Your help is appreciated ... many thanks!

If adjusting the scan scheduler helps, that is excellent. Glad to help.
