hey wilders, ok my dad was trying to install quicken home and business 2010(legit banking management program) on my secondary comp. and i added the resource to isolate the cdrom drive and he couldnt get quicken to install. so he asked me why it wouldnt and i told him that geswall was isolating the cd rom drive.

so he told me he googled quicken install error and it told him to download RegCure and Driver detectiveIbad bad programs) and my dad tried to run them but they were both isoloated by geswall so when my dad doubled clicked regcure and driver detective they just did nothing. (GLAD GESWALL BLOCKED IT FROM INSTALLING)

so i told him that they were rogue programs, and he said he didnt know.

so basically quicken got installed fine, and no malware/rogue programs were isntalled because Geswall did an awsome job protecting the computer.

    Yup,Geswall rocks :thumb:
I used it for awhile, and might go back to it someday.

I know I threw a ton of malware at it,and nothing got through :thumb:

Good to know but believe me geswall is much more powerfull than just stopping a rouge.
If you want to see its power, throw sophisticated malware, root kits and MBR/disk destroying malware over it, it nails them all.

BTW same is true of DefenceWall and Sandboxie.

It is not abandonded. That I know for a fact. Look, Gentle Security has never been, very, lets say, open. But please trust me. They are working on a 64 bit Windows 7 version and hopefully, will be out soon.

Geswall is great. I've tried defensewall and I didn't like the way it seemed to slow down the internet. It would lag for a second or two. Geswall doens't seem to do that and its easy to use. I can download a file and it isolates it till I right click and label as trusted. Occasionaly it will ask me if I want to isolate an application. Other than that it runs beautifully.

CD drives are isolated fine but there is a bug in latest and recent versions and USB drives can,t be isolated at the moment.

you wil not see G on both driver, just run some executable from CD and it wil be isolated.

Also i noted that some times custom rules need a reboot or a restart of geswall service before they wil take effect.
