Microsoft even admits that it hasn't done much on supercomputers. Steve Ballmer said he wants to break into the supercomputer market, so he is having certain versions of Windows redesigned for supercomputers.
However, without Windows being open-source and since it's licensed under draconian licenses, it's hard to see how the academic community will embrace it. |
